The image on this year's East-Maui Taro Festival website, poster, shirts, post cards, and prints has quickly become appreciated throughout Maui County and Hawai'i. Pohaku ku'i'ai is a generous endowment gift from Carla to East-Maui Taro Festival, Inc., a non-profit organization. We will use the image as part of future fundraising efforts.

The original framed 24" x 30" painting is being offered as a gift to a supporter or group of supporters who make an endowment gift to the East-Maui Taro Festival.

Carla, Mahalo Nui Loa!

Carla Crow has earned widespread recognition for her unique personal vision expressed through acrylic paintings on bark paper, sharinga theme of patterns from old Hawaiian kapa cloth and ancient Polynesiandesigns.

Carla was born in Chicago in 1946 and attended Northern Michigan Universityin the mid 70's. Before moving to Hawai`i in 1985, she was Director of theStone Gallery in Hays, Kansas while presenting her work in a significant39 solo and group exhibits.

She has served as an advisor and juror forthe Annual Teen Hawaiian Art Exhibit in Hana, her home since 1990.

Carla Crow's imagery is on the forefront of contemporary work, expressingthe eternal knowledge of indigenous cultures of oceania and the globe.

Her work is in both public and corporate collections throughout Hawai'i, the U.S. mainland, Asia and Europe. You can view her work at:
